WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORIGINAL COLLAGEN BEAUTY AND THE COLLAGEN BEAUTY FLAVOURS?
The main difference is that the original Collagen Beauty is unflavoured (making it very versatile and easy to disguise in smoothies, juices, food etc) and the Collagen Beauty flavours for coffee contain other ingredients and natural plant based flavours to compliment the taste of coffee, making it super convenient, yummy and perfect to add into your coffee ritual. They all contain the same amount of the Bioactive Collagen Peptides, and the essential collagen supporting nutrients vitamin C, zinc and silica.
WHICH PRODUCT SHOULD I TAKE - ORIGINAL COLLAGEN BEAUTY OR FLAVOURED COLLAGEN BEAUTY?
This really just comes down to what is most convenient for you. If you like to add your Collagen Beauty to other flavoured things like smoothies, soups, juices and porridge then stick with original Collagen Beauty. If you would prefer to add your Collagen Beauty into your coffee or other creamy dessert flavoured food or drink, then go for our Collagen Beauty flavours for coffee.
Something that might work for you is to have the original Collagen Beauty at home for weekends or days that you have a bit more time to make yourself a smoothie, and have a tub of one of the flavours on your desk at work to add to your morning coffee on busy working days. Just think about your own routine, what would work best for you and what you would enjoy the most!
WHAT GIVES THE COLLAGEN BEAUTY FLAVOURS FOR COFFEE THEIR FLAVOUR?
We have used vanilla bean in the vanilla and refractance dried maple in the caramel to taste delicious alongside Australian made plant based natural flavours. We’ve also added a tiny pinch of salt to enhance those delicious flavours, because we are fancy!
WHAT DOES “NATURAL FLAVOUR” MEAN?
Natural flavour means that the flavour has been extracted from a natural source using physical, traditional food-preparation processes (e.g pressing, drying, heating, fermentation). Synthetic flavours are made by chemical synthesis. At Nutra Organics, we will only use natural flavours derived from plant based sources, using natural processes, and our natural flavours are made here in Australia.
ARE THE COLLAGEN BEAUTY FLAVOURS FOR COFFEE SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION IN PREGNANCY, BREASTFEEDING AND KIDS?
Yes, Collagen Beauty (original and the flavours) are safe for consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and safe for kids 12 months and up. However, we do not recommend consuming your Collagen Beauty Coffee Flavour in coffee during this time, we would instead suggest that you add it to a decaf coffee, milk, tea, creamy smoothie or dessert.
ARE THE COLLAGEN BEAUTY FLAVOURS FOR COFFEE ONLY FOR COFFEE?
No, our Collagen Beauty flavours for coffee can also be added to milk, tea, smoothies or desserts. Anything that would suit a bit of vanilla or caramel! Our lovely customers have been requesting collagen beauty flavours that can be added to their coffee for a while now and, since 99% of us are coffee lovers, we thought that was a great idea. The flavours are still super versatile and you can add them to anything you like (seriously though - try them straight in milk!)
CAN I MIX MORE COLLAGEN INTO MY FLAVOURED COLLAGEN BEAUTY?
The simple answer is yes. There is no issue of safety in adding more original Collagen Beauty to your flavoured Collagen Beauty. However, here at Nutra Organics we are passionate about a varied diet being the healthiest one. Due to the nature of collagen being refined protein, we do not recommend consuming more than one serving daily. It is important to fulfil your daily protein needs from a variety of wholefood sources.
WHAT ‘TYPES’ OF COLLAGEN ARE IN COLLAGEN BEAUTY?
Collagen Beauty is standardised to contain type I and type III collagen. These two types of collagen are the most abundant types present in connective tissue within the human body such as in hair, skin, nails, bones, joints, muscle and ligaments.
WHERE DOES OUR COLLAGEN COME FROM? ARE THE COWS FED ORGANIC GRASS OR GRAINS?
If there’s one thing we are passionate about here at Nutra Organics, aside from food of course, its animals and their welfare. Therefore we have ensured that the bovine that our collagen comes from are treated under the highest animal welfare scheme possible. We do not guarantee that our bovine are fed organic grass all year around as some of them are located in Germany and due to the fact it snows there for a large portion of the year, it is impossible to ensure that they are eating grass fed 100% as their diets may need to occasionally be supplemented with wholesome non-gmo grains. However they are grass fed the majority of the year.
HOW IS COLLAGEN DIFFERENT TO GELATIN?
Collagen and Gelatin are essentially the same thing (but it can be a bit confusing). Collagen (in its natural form) is made up of long chains of amino acids which form solid structures. Gelatin is made from broken down collagen, so it has shorter chains of amino acids, however the chains are still long enough to have the gelling effect when added to liquid. Our Collagen products are made up of hydrolyzed collagen, which is broken down even further into tiny chains of amino acids that are so small, they are water soluble (so don’t have the gelling effect of gelatin). All have the exact same amino acid profile, it’s just a matter of chain length!
WILL THE VITAMIN C STILL BE THERE IF I ADD IT TO A HOT COFFEE?
10 points! You’re absolutely right that vitamin C denatures when it is exposed to hot temperatures. The level of denaturing will be dependent on how hot your coffee is and how long it is left sitting. Some of the vitamin C will no longer be active if you have added your collagen beauty into a very hot drink - just like some of the vitamin C in a capsicum will no longer be active if you roast it. If you want to ensure you are getting all the vitamin C out of your collagen beauty we recommend mixing into a cold smoothie or milk. Nutra Organics loves a healthy varied diet, and your diet should always be your main source of nutrients, so although we have added a good source of vitamin C to Collagen Beauty so that you can enjoy all the collagen supporting benefits that this vitamin provides, but do not make Collagen Beauty your only source of vitamin C. Enjoy Collagen Beauty and all its benefits, as part of a healthy varied diet.
