How are cashews made? Cashews are harvested by being picked off the cashew apple. The Cashew then goes through a steaming process to soften the tough shell so it can be split and the cashew kernel removed. This is completed only at low temperatures to preserve valuable enzymes, healthy fats and the sweet delicate flavour.
