Do-nut be fooled! These aren’t your traditional fried apple rings, these Caramel Apple Donut Rings are a healthy twist that’ll have you feeling like a kid in a carnival. Sliced apples take the stage, dipped in a batter enriched with wholemeal flour, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and Collagen Beauty Caramel. Say goodbye to deep-fried regrets and hello to oven-baked delights that keep both your health and taste buds on cloud nine!
Combine agave powder and 1 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl, set aside.
Slice apples into rings and core the centers to make a ring shape.
Mix together the flours, milk, egg, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and Collagen Beauty to form a batter.
Heat the coconut oil in a fry pan, then dip each apple ring into the batter, drip off the excess, and working in batches, place into the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Then place on the baking tray.
Bake the apple rings for about 10 minutes to slightly soften the apples. If the batter has filled in the center, cut it out with a knife (or leave if you like!).
Dust the apple rings in the cinnamon agave mixture. Serve hot.
