Hungry Caterpillar Sandwiches
Get ready for a munch-tastic adventure with our Hungry Caterpillar Sandwiches. These playful sandwiches will keep the kids impressed and nourished with fresh wholefood vegetables and the added nutrients of Veggie Hero. Birthday party or simply a fun lunch, these Hungry Caterpillar Sandwiches are not just tasty but also a feast for the eyes!

  • 2 tbsp Veggie Hero
  • 20 slices of wholemeal bread
  • Butter/mayonaise (optional)
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced, patted dry with paper towel
  • 11 slices of cheddar cheese, plus extra for the eyes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 10 pieces of ham off the bone
  • 1 cherry tomato
  1. Lay out 10 slices of bread and butter/mayo them
  2. Lay over the ham, cheese, tomato and veggie hero on each slice
  3. Top with another slice of bread to complete the sandwich
  4. With a cookie cutter cut out large circles to make the caterpillar body
  5. Arrange them on a plate standing up to form the body
  6. Cut 80% of the cucumber into quarters for legs, the remaining 20%, cut two thin slices for the antenas, and two very small squares for the pupil of the eyes
  7. Cut two small circles of cheese for eyes, place on the pupils, press in slightly to secure
  8. Add the cucumber legs and cherry tomato nose and cucumber antennas, cheese and cucumber eyes - it can be a little fiddly but worth the effort!
