Peanut Butter & Honey Protein Granola

Granola is such an easy and delicious way to start the day, particularly on the days you just need to throw breakfast together and get on with life. The problem with lots of store-bought granola is that there is always an ingredient or two that you would rather not have in there, and it’s amazing how much sugar can creep into some products. Making your own granola at home is a great option for having full control over what goes in so that you get the healthy delicious breakfast that you deserve! We’ve put together this recipe for you to try. It’s a satisfying mix of nuts and grains, with added protein to keep the Macronutrients balanced.

In general, nuts are a great source of healthy fats, protein, vitamins and minerals which will help boost your nutritional intake for the day and keep you feeling satisfied for longer.

We’ve suggested honey to naturally sweeten your granola. Going for raw, local honey is particularly beneficial as local honey contains local pollen, so if you are someone who is prone to a few allergy symptoms that are related to airborne pollen, consuming local honey can help. Raw honey also contains beneficial enzymes and antioxidants.

We have also suggested using a serve of our Thriving Family Smooth Vanilla in this recipe. The gentle vanilla flavour blends perfectly with the other flavours of the granola and Thriving Family is a great source of protein that is safe for every member of the family, including children over 12 months and pregnant and breastfeeding women. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, Folate, C, D, E, Calcium, Iron and Magnesium.
