Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine carrot chunks, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil in a roasting tray and cook until nicely roasted through (about 30 mins or so).
While hot, place carrot into a heatproof blender, food processor, or Thermomix. Squeeze the roasted garlic in, add in tahini, smoked paprika, broth, and liquid smoke. Blitz until smooth, if needed add a little water a teaspoon at a time to soften.
Season to taste. Refrigerate until needed - will keep for about 2-3 days.
