Add 2 - 3 heaped tablespoons (30 g) of your vanilla protein powder to: 

• 300 mL water, milk or milk alternative
• Smoothies
• Foods, such as porridge, yoghurt, slices and muffins.

Natural Gelatin

If you prefer drinking gelatin then for a single serve: Add approx. 1 tbsp. (10 g) to your liquid of choice (tea, coffee, juice) hot or cold. If you prefer, 'Bloom' the gelatin prior to adding to your liquid.

To make a set gelatin: Use gelatin to make gummies and other treats.

220 Bloom count.

1. 'Bloom' gelatin by adding approximately ¼ cup of gelatin (40 g) to ½ cup of water (1:2 ratio) and stir until an even texture is achieved.
2. Add bloomed gelatin to 250 mL of any hot liquid with your flavouring and stir until dissolved.
3. Pour into a mould and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

NOTE: Reduce the amount of gelatin for a softer set or increase for a firmer set.

Is Collagen Beauty safe for children and pregnant & breastfeeding women?

Yes, Collagen Beauty (original and the flavours) are safe for consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and safe for kids 12 months and up.

Our Collagen Beauty also contains the added benefit of naturally occuring Zinc and Vitamin C from Camu Camu and Guava. These nutrients assist in the production and formation of collagen naturally in the skin. As they are naturally derived through water extraction and are only present in very small amounts. This product is classified as safe for consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We recommend if you have any concerns taking a product containing naturally occurring Vitamin C and Zinc that you consult your primary physician

Where does your Collagen come from?

For years we have proudly sourced our bovine collagen through Gelita, a global German publicly listed business founded in 1875, who have established themselves as a global leader in the production of scientifically researched collagen and who have been able to provide us with the strong sustainability assurances for bovine collagen. Gelita’s status as a publicly listed company also ensures a high standard of governance and controls. 

Our bovine collagen is sourced from Brazil and Germany, upcycling the parts of the agriculture industry that would otherwise go to waste. Gelita have strict legal agreements in place with their suppliers, whereby raw materials are only accepted from farms that meet the highest animal welfare standards, and any farms located in protected land or indigenous areas are strictly prohibited.

Which product should I take - original collagen beauty or flavoured collagen beauty?

This really just comes down to what is most convenient for you. If you like to add your Collagen Beauty to other flavoured things like smoothies, soups, juices and porridge then stick with original Collagen Beauty. If you would prefer to add your Collagen Beauty into your coffee or other creamy dessert flavoured food or drink, then go for our collagen beauty coffee flavours.

Something that might work for you is to have the original Collagen Beauty at home for weekends or days that you have a bit more time to make yourself a smoothie, and have a tub of one of the flavours on your desk at work to add to your morning coffee on busy working days. Just think about your own routine, what would work best for you and what you would enjoy the most!

Can I use Thriving Family protein powder in baking or will all the nutrition get destroyed by heat?

You can definitely include Thriving Family in any baking. Some water soluble vitamins such as B vitamins and vitamin C are susceptible to heat, however, all of the vital minerals and macro nutrients such as protein will be preserved, adding a good whack of nutrition to whatever baked good you add it into.

Is Gelatin vegan or vegetarian friendly?

No unfortunately, Gelatin is not vegan or vegetarian friendly as it is derived from animal sources. There is no way to obtain gelatin from a plant source as by nature it only occurs in protein rich connective tissue which plants do not have.

Where is Gelatin made of in Australia and where does it comes from?

Gelatin is a naturally occurring protein source, derived from the collagen rich components of connective tissue in animals. It is produced through a method of heating these components to naturally extract the gelatin rich collagen from these areas.  Gelatin naturally contains a large amount of amino acids such as proline, glycine, hydroxyproline, glutamine and many more which can otherwise be hard to obtain from lean cuts of meat commonly consumed in the western diet. These amino acids are necessary for us to consume as they provide the benefits for all of our connective tissue such as skin, ligaments, bones, cartilage and even our gut lining.

Our Gelatin comes from Australian cows, which are predominantly grass fed. Their diets are supplemented with non-GMO grains when necessary.
