Collagen, whey and plant proteins each have different amino acid profiles and ingredient sources.
Whey protein is derived from milk and contains all nine essential amino acids. Plant proteins are sourced from ingredients such as peas, rice or soy and can provide a complete amino acid profile when used alone or in combination, depending on the source. Collagen protein is derived from animal connective tissue and has a different amino acid profile, and it is not a complete protein. Each can contribute protein to the diet. The most suitable option depends on dietary preferences, ingredient tolerances and nutritional requirements.
